“What a club” – Louie Sibley reacts as Derby County supporters show their support
Despite putting up a good fight all season, Derby County had their relegation to League One confirmed yesterday afternoon.
The Rams travelled to QPR and suffered a 1-0 defeat, conceding in the 88th minute and losing their captain Tom Lawrence to a second yellow card in the 98th minute.
The final result was a sucker punch for Derby County and it sees their relegation confirmed.
After starting the season with a -21 points deduction, Derby have done remarkably well to reach 31 points so far this season.
Despite the difficulties off the pitch, the players and staff at Derby have been credited for the way they have stuck by the club and worked hard until the very end.
As a result, a number of fans turned out at the ground last night to welcome back the players on the coach applauding them as they drove through.
20-year-old Louie Sibley, who has had a brilliant season stepping up for Derby, took to Twitter to show the appreciation back as he put the caption: “What a club, the best supporters” alongside a video of the coach being welcomed.
