Corry Evans sends message to Sunderland supporters ahead of final run-in

Sunderland continued to keep up their good form this weekend with a 0-0 draw against Plymouth.

Although they would no doubt have been hoping for three points, given that Plymouth currently sit fourth in the league, the Black Cats will have been pleased to come away from the game with a point.

The result means Sunderland remain in the play-off spots but with Sheffield Wednesday only one point behind them with a game in hand, Sunderland will have to keep the intensity high as they face their final games of the season.

Sunderland have three games left facing Cambridge and Rotherham at home before Morecambe away on the final day.

At this stage in the season, no games are easy and with Rotherham attempting to re-gain their place at the top whilst Morecambe could be fighting to save themselves from relegation, the Black Cats will have to put in top displays to make sure they make the play-offs at the end of the season.

However, with Sunderland’s next two games at home they will no doubt be hoping the home advantage will come into play if they can get a good number of fans in the stadium.

Captain Corry Evans alluded to this as he sent a message out to the fans saying: “The next three games are massive – we’re lucky we have two of them at home and I’m sure the supporters will get behind us and push us through.”
