West Ham: Moyes makes 'most ridiculous' claim on £62k-a-week London Stadium star

West Ham United boss David Moyes will be making the ‘most ridiculous’ mistake if he opted against selling London Stadium favourite Declan Rice for £150million this summer, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The Hammers finished the campaign in seventh place, which has allowed them to book their place in next season’s Europa Conference League, but they may be made to compete without Rice.

Rice may currently be on a contract worth £62,000-per-week, but West Ham are looking to reward the central midfielder with a record-breaking deal.

The Hammers have tabled an eight-year proposal worth £200,000-per-week, which would make Rice the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

However, he has yet to put pen-to-paper and it comes after rejecting a third contract offer, which led to him telling West Ham he is open to a summer move.

Rice is known to be a target for Manchester City and Manchester United, so it is clear that Premier League rivals are looking to pounce, but the Hammers have put a £150million price tag on his head.

However, it is understood that the England ace would prefer to rejoin Chelsea, who released him at the age of 14, if he is to secure a move away from east London.

“David Moyes has talked up about ‘if we got £150million, we’re going to turn it down’. I’m sorry, that’s the most ridiculous thing to ever say.

“Why would you turn
