West Ham could be 'open to offers' for £30m 'talent' at London Stadium

West Ham United could be ‘open to offers’ for forward Said Benrahma in the current transfer window, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The 26-year-old arrived at the London Stadium from Brentford two years ago in a deal that could rise to £30 million but he’s struggled to find his best form on a consistent basis since.

A recent report from The Sun claimed that West Ham are ‘ready to listen’ to any bids that arrive for Benrahma this summer as they attempt to bring Jesse Lingard back to the club.

It’s claimed that manager David Moyes warned several players in the second half of last season that they needed to prove themselves and has now decided that improvements are required in east London.

Lingard enjoyed an extremely productive six-month loan spell with the Hammers in the second half of 2020/21, racking up 14 goal contributions in just 16 Premier League appearances.

The England international fired West Ham to a sixth-placed finish but returned to parent club Manchester United, only to find himself confined to the bench for the majority of last season.

However, Lingard is set to depart Old Trafford on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the month and could seal a permanent switch to the capital club.

Crook believes that although Benrahma has ‘got talent’, it ‘hasn’t quite worked out for him’ at West Ham and one of the newly-promoted clubs could snap him up as a result.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “It wouldn’t surprise me if they were open to offers.

“I could see maybe one of the newly-promoted clubs, Forest or Fulham taking a chance on him because I think he’s got talent; it just hasn’t quite worked out for him
