West Ham ‘expected’ to revive interest in Harry Maguire and more Manchester United transfer rumours

West Ham are reportedly poised to revive their interest in Manchester United club captain Harry Maguire.

The defender has started just seven Premier League games having dropped down the centre-half pecking order during the season. Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and now Luke Shaw are all preferred.

As a result, the 30-year-old is being tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer. The Manchester Evening News understands that Maguire is one player who is set to be made available to buy by Erik ten Hag this summer.

Now, ESPN reports that West Ham are among those interested in a switch for the England star. It is claimed that the London club approached United about Maguire in January and are expected to go back in for him this summer.

The report also says Newcastle are keeping tabs on Scott McTominay although the Magpies are not keen on United’s £40m valuation of the Scot. United are anticipated to let more players leave to fund acquisitions this transfer window.

Meanwhile, Il Mattino (via Inside Futbol) reports that Napoli are aware of United’s interest in defender Kim Min-jae. Although the player’s entourage came out this week to deny reports that a deal had been finalised.

But the latest reports coming out of Italy say the Serie A champions have acknowledged United’s interest and that the Reds are prepared to trigger Kim’s supposed £56m buyout clause. It adds that Napoli are resigned to the fact that the 26-year-old World Cup star will leave the club this summer.
