West Ham dealt major injury blow ahead of Wolves clash

West Ham manager David Moyes has given an injury update on his squad ahead of this Sunday's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the London Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Bruno Lage's men will be back in action just three days after their 2-1 defeat with Arsenal on Thursday night.

Having missed out on the opportunity to close the gap to the Gunners, Wolves will now hope to return to winning ways against the Hammers - who sit just two points behind Moyes' team in seventh place.

Ahead of the encounter however, right-back Vladimir Coufal is the major injury blow for Moyes as he is set for a spell on the sidelines.

The 29-year-old, who had been managing a groin problem for a while, has successfully undergone surgery.

As previously confirmed, Angelo Ogbonna is also unavailable for the remainder of the season after he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the Hammers' 3-2 win over Liverpool back in November.

Whereas Andriy Yarmolenko has been granted a few days off given the situation in Ukraine, his homeland.

"We are ok," Moyes said in his press-conference. "Vladimir Coufal had a hernia operation in midweek and will be out for a few weeks, other than that Angelo Ogbonna with his cruciate and Masuaku with a knee injury which we are trying to get him back other than that not too bad.

"We think it is part of it, he [Coufal] has struggled for a long time. The international players have a lot of games, the Euros and all the games last year and the quickness of the games and this year too it can take its toll and unfortunately Vladimir could not carry on."
