Maxwel Cornet, Nelson Semedo, Diogo Jota, Allan Saint-Maximin, Jamie Vardy injury latest

As ever going into a Premier League weekend there are plenty of injuries that managers across the country are dealing with – whether that is the actual managers or those picking their fantasy football teams.

There are headaches enough for fantasy football bosses this weekend with the Carabao Cup final meaning Liverpool and Chelsea are not in Premier League action, while Arsenal are also not playing.

There is plenty to consider, so hopefully these updates from around the league will help make the big decisions.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: ‘Maxwel has a foot injury and is touch and go, not a serious one but a bit sore still.’

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe explained: ‘He got a bang on the calf against Aston Villa.

‘In terms of his rehab, he’s been away to get intensive, specialised treatment abroad. We felt that was the quickest way to get him fit. He’s in a very good place mentally and he’s very eager to return.

‘Maxi, we’re going make a late call on. He’s been away getting intensive treatment. We said when he suffered the injury that it wouldn’t be long term, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed on him.’

Pep Lijnders, Liverpool assistant, said: ‘Jota so far no reaction on the training he did. So that’s a good sign. He isn’t ruled out but it will still be a challenge.’

Speaking after Wolves’ defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday, Bruno Large could not offer much, saying: ‘I don’t have any information for now, so let’s wait and see.’

Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers said: ‘Jamie’s not too far away, he’s working outside, he’s running, he’s moving, he’s maybe two or three days from training with the team so that’s great news for us with those two.’
