West Brom fans fume after Steve Bruce's first game ends in defeat

West Brom fans have been reacting to their team's 2-0 loss to Sheffield United in Steve Bruce's first game as manager.

Billy Sharp hit a brace for the hosts with Albion's Jake Livermore being sent off after 39 minutes for an overly rough challenge on Conor Hourihane.

Bruce was announced as Baggies boss last week after the departure of Valerien Ismael with the club eight points off an automatic promotion spot.

Their quest for promotion has now taken another hit with a second consecutive defeat. It leaves them outside of the play-offs with 16 games left to play.

West Brom fans have been venting their frustration on social media following the full-time whistle.

Most of the anger was directed at Jake Livermore for his first-half dismissal.

If Bruce wants to be an instant hit with this fanbase then he can start by delivering a statement tomorrow morning that Jake Livermore has been stripped of the captaincy and will be training with the U23s until further notice. Get him and his influence out of this football club.

I hope Livermore never wears an Albion kit ever again.

Livermore is not my captain, he never has been my captain, and I want him gone.

Others were not entirely convinced by Bruce in his first outing as Baggies manager.

I thought there were positives in the fight we showed after the red but I just don’t see Steve Bruce giving us a winning streak
