'Went very well' - Ryan Lowe provides positive Preston North End transfer update

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe is confident of making a couple of signings soon, after holding talks with various players and their representatives.

The Lilywhites announced this week that defender Bambo Diaby had signed a two-year contract with the club, but PNE are yet to bring in any new faces ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. Due to the number of departing players from last season, that will not be the case for much longer as Lowe plans to top up his playing squad.

LancsLive reported last week that North End had reached verbal agreements with a few players, and that some deals were very close to completion. Players are still away on holiday and so PNE are having to wait for those to conclude, but it is understood that medicals are being penciled in for the back end of next week.

Lowe is looking to make permanent additions as he builds a robust squad, made up of around 21 senior-pros. And, as per the manager's interview with club media, things are going smoothly so far.

“We’ve got a couple of offers out already," Lowe told iFollow PNE. "We’ve definitely got two out, we’re just waiting to hear back from them, which we feel is very positive. The talks went very well. Obviously further down the line we know what positions we need. We haven’t got a goalkeeper in the building so we’re on with goalkeepers, speaking to them, and strikers.

“The positions we’re looking for are the positions we’re trying to get in ASAP, but it’s a long process. I think the talks that we’ve had with the agents and with the players have been very good, and if that continues then hopefully we’ll have one or two signings in the next few weeks.
