Weather forecast for Greater Manchester as Met Office issues warning

More heavy rain is set in fall in Greater Manchester after Storm Babet battered the region.

Though the storm has now swept over the UK, another yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for tomorrow (Tuesday) with more flooding possible in the downpours. The rain warning comes into place at 3am tomorrow and will last until 4pm.

Although it just misses our region, with the area bordering Glossop and covering parts of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, heavy showers are forecast in Greater Manchester tomorrow. Downpours are expected from the early hours of tomorrow morning, following a largely dry and cloudy today.

Heavy showers are then forecast throughout much of the day, switching between light and heavy over our region. Forecasters predict they will ease off by around 6pm.

It will feel cold tomorrow, with temperatures only reaching highs of around 11C. According to the Met Office, conditions will then settle on Wednesday in Greater Manchester with mix of cloudy and dry weather forecast into the weekend.

There may be a few light showers and some sunny spells on Thursday and Friday. Last week, a number of flood alerts were issued after Storm Babet brought heavy rain to the region causing water levels to rise in some rivers.

Residents in parts of Tameside, Manchester and Stockport were warned to 'act now' over likely flooding on Friday. In England, it is understood around 1,250 properties were affected by flooding while roughly 30,000 properties required extra protection against rising water levels, the
