Michelin-starred restaurant near Greater Manchester to open luxury garden rooms with hot tubs
Moor Hall in Aughton has announced it will expand its accommodation with the addition of seven luxurious ‘garden rooms’ - and each one will have its own hot tub. The two Michelin-starred restaurant, an hour from Greater Manchester, is run by acclaimed chef Mark Birchall.
Occupying a Grade II-listed manor house in the Lancashire countryside, Moor Hall already has seven guest rooms. But the luxury dining spot, which was named England’s best restaurant at the National Restaurant Awards for 2023 earlier this year, is adding several more to its site.
Seven standalone ‘garden rooms’ are set to open in spring 2024, in the secluded woodland that surrounds Moor Hall’s picturesque grounds. Each one will have its own private decked area and hot tub, offering guests the ultimate indulgent escape.

Exact dates for the opening will be confirmed closer to the time, but if you fancy a stay in one of the garden rooms you may want to start saving now. Prices will start from £1,100 for dinner, bed and breakfast for two.
The garden rooms will ‘celebrate quality, longevity and quiet luxury’ with tastefully decorated interiors 'inspired by botanicals’. All of the rooms will be named after different plants, evoking a kitchen garden.
Curated by design firm KOTO, every room will feature a slightly different design depending on the botanical they’re named after. In the Anise Hyssop room guests will find a scheme of rich dark timbers, lilac accents, luxurious velvets and bronze fixtures. Oxalis will feature light woods, origami-inspired furniture, with purple and burgundy tones,
