We simulated RB Leipzig vs Man City to get a Champions League score prediction

After a disappointing defeat at the weekend, Man City will be looking to return to winning ways on Wednesday when they take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

City picked up their first Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday when Pep Guardiola's side fell to a 2-1 loss against Wolves, though they remained at the top of the table after Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham. It was a second loss on the bounce for City after their 1-0 loss to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, and Guardiola will be keen to avoid a third consecutive defeat when they face RB Leipzig.

Leipzig are becoming familiar opponents, with Wednesday the fifth meeting in the Champions League between City and the German side since 2021. The last encounter was a fantastic result for Guardiola's side, with Erling Haaland scoring three in a 7-0 thrashing.

So, how could City fare on Wednesday? Let's take a look.

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that the hosts could set up in a 4-2-2-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Blaswich; Henrichs, Simakan, Lukeba, Raum; Schlager, Seiwald; Simons, Forsberg; Poulsen, Openda.

We predict that City could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Rodri, Kovacic; Foden, Alvarez, Grealish; Haaland.

City dominated all the possession in the first half, but Guardiola's side couldn't find a breakthrough with Leipzig striking the bar with the best chance of the half.
