We see if an Amazon cooler costing less than £30 can beat the heat

My bedroom is south facing, so when the temperature gets up outside, it starts soaring inside. In the past, I've had to endure 30C by the time I tuck in for the night, and that is not comfortable.

I've always fancied a proper air-conditioning unit, but they're expensive, cumbersome, they need internal ducting, and - did I mention they're expensive?

Secondly, the filter that soaks up the water is large and dense. And that's good, because it means there's more cold air being blown at you or around your room.

Thirdly, and this is the best bit, you can freeze the water bottles within a few hours and effectively have a slow release of near-zero degree water being evaporated and blown around.

And it's very effective. At least to a point. Cards on the table, it will not cool a room down as well as an air-conditioning unit. This should come as no
