We're a massive club, we came to win - Colin Healy disappointed with Cork City's dramatic draw at Shamrock Rovers

Neither manager was happy after a night of high drama at Tallaght Stadium ended with League of Ireland Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers and newly promoted Cork City taking a point apiece.

The hosts opened the scoring but the Rebels led 2-1 at half-time and 4-2 going into the closing stages before a 104-minute epic eventually ended 4-4.

Cork boss Colin Healy insisted that he wouldn't have been happy with just a point even if his side hadn't been in such a commanding position.

"I wouldn't," he told RTÉ Sport. "Everybody says that, that you’re coming up here to the champions but we’re Cork City football club.

"We’re a massive football club so we’re coming up here to win. I think you saw that tonight.

"We enjoy coming up here. To come up here and get four goals, we’re disappointed with the point.

"We sat in and defended but they have very good players. It’s disappointing that we conceded late.

"They brought on more attacking players and they just put everybody in the box. We should have defended better but it is what it is."

The game was delayed by a clash of heads between Cork's Aaron Bolger and Rovers' Trevor Clarke that resulted in the Rebels man being stretchered off.

Thankfully, Healy confirmed that the former Hoop was conscious afterwards.

"It was a nasty clash of heads. We've seen him there inside and he’s okay. I think they’ll take him off to the hospital just to make sure. We just hope he’s okay."

Cork had led at the break through a goal of the season contender from Darragh Crowley, who lobbed Alan Manus from just past the centre circle.
