'We got a baptism of fire!': Zwane will not trigger 'panic' button after Downs thumping

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has played down his side's 4-0 defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns, insisting they will bounce back.

Amakhosi were feeling confident ahead of the clash with the defending DStv Premiership champions at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, after their 3-0 win over Maritzburg, but were immediately on the back foot.

Centre-back Siyabonga Ngezana's mistake in the sixth minute gifted Gaston Sirino with the opener before he gave away a penalty in the 17th, which Peter Shalulile converted.

Chiefs never really recovered and went on to lose 4-0, but Zwane believes there were some positives to take from the game.

"We will get it right," said Zwane.

"I won't panic, we got a baptism of fire, and it's part of the game.

"Even the best teams in the world found themselves in this situation where they were hammered heavily.

"As I said, we learn from this game; we will take the positives and negatives.

"We will take those negatives and move on because we don't want to find ourselves in the same situation and be beaten 4-0 again.

"So we would love to do that to other teams, and it's going to happen; I have that belief, it happens for a reason.

"It's not a train smash for sure, it's a setback, but we will definitely come back."
