Steven Gerrard transfer drive in Celtic nod during signing teaser as former Rangers boss brings 'the Bhoys' to Saudi

Al-Ettifaq added a Celtic twist to their unveiling of Jack Hendry and Moussa Dembele as Steven Gerrard brought the former Parkhead duo to the Saudi Pro League.

The former Rangers boss has taken the former Celtic centre- back and striker to his new club with him in the Middle East as he overhauls the squad some big spending. Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is also set to follow the Scotland international and former Lyon frontman to Ettifaq as the revamped league continues to spend big.

Gerrard will know the duo well from his time in the Scottish Premiership and the Al-Ettifaq were keen to make a nod to the Hoops connection during their announcement of the pair. Before defender Hendry was announced as the first recruit of the evening, a teaser of two hands holding a four leaf clover was posted to social media - one with a Scotland top in the background and the other with a France kit.

The caption read: "What's better than one Bhoy? The Bhoys x2."

The new faces come at a vital time for the Al-Ettifaq boss just four games into his tenure. He is currently on a four game winless run amid questions over if a move to Saudi was the right choice for his next club after being axed by Aston Villa.
