He's followed a trendy path and now Kieran Tierney will meet the press for the first time since he swapped Arsenal for Real Sociedad.

There were rampant rumours of an emotional return to Celtic but the Parkhead hero has signed for the La Liga side on a season-long loan deal, after being frozen out of Gunners plans by Mikel Arteta. He is in line to make his debut this weekend against Granada and he will have his eyes closely on this week's Champions League draw, after the Basque club secured their place at Europe's top table this season with a fourth-placed domestic finish in 22/23.

A frustrating term for Tierney last season had him playing back-up to Oleksandr Zinchencko at Arsenal but Scotland performances like the one he put in against Spain in March shows why the Premier League giants splashed £25m on him four years ago. He joins fellow Scots like Lewis Ferguson, Josh Doig, Aaron Hickey, Jack Hendry and more in recent years who have taken a plunge into football beyond UK borders.
