Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr displays brilliant skills for Man Utd Under-12s

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has embarrassed a lot of defenders in his career, and he appears to have taught his son a few of his tricks.

After humiliating John O’Shea in a pre-season friendly, Ronaldo left Sporting Lisbon and completed a permanent move to United in 2003.

The winger became renowned for his incredible repertoire of skills and was often called a show pony during his formative years at Old Trafford.

“He appeared at the front entrance at Carrington and I remember seeing him thinking ‘who’s this kid?’ because his gear was terrible,” former United youth player Eddie Johnson told The Broken Metatarsal.

“He was in some terrible roll neck and really tight washed-out jeans. Someone says that’s Ronaldo, the new signing, then we go out to train.

“I was still quite young, but I was training with the first team and we did the 5v2 warm-up like we did every day, and he did the most audacious bit of skill and put it through the legs of one of the other young lads.

“He’d confused him that much that he’d crossed his feet together and ended up landing flat on his face. Everyone was looking round going ‘there’s a player here’ so from that day on it was pretty exciting.”

The 37-year-old has since developed into a ruthless striker, who has scored over 800 career goals at club and international level.

But Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has seemingly inherited his dad’s dribbling ability and goalscoring instincts. The teenager, who currently plays for United’s academy, recently scored two goals in two games in the Mediterranean Internet Cup.

During those two games, he also managed to skip past a few defenders with his brilliant footwork and close control.
