Where would Manchester United be this season without Cristiano Ronaldo?

On Thursday evening, the 37-year-old superstar rescued the Red Devils for the upmteenth time in 2021/22 with a brilliant goal against Chelsea.

Ronaldo’s strike came just two minutes after Marcos Alonso opened the scoring at Old Trafford and it earned United a 1-1 draw.

The marvellous strike by Ronaldo was his 17th in the Premier League, which has seen him move level with Heung-min Son in the standings.

Not bad for a player many foolishly labelled as ‘part of the problem’ at United, eh?

Ronaldo’s goal against Chelsea was certainly one of his best since returning to English football.

The Portugal international controlled Nemanja Matic’s lofted pass sublimely and he then fired the ball past Edouard Mendy on the half volley.

It was a work of art by Ronaldo and slow-motion footage of the goal perfectly illustrates just how beautiful it was.
