Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy was beaming as Manchester United claimed an emphatic 3-1 win against rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag appointed McCarthy as a first team coach, where his main beat will be focussing on player positioning, finishing and more.

Since his appointment, United have been finding the back of the net more often than not as they have now won four Premier League games on the trot.

Marcus Rashford's brace and a dream debut goal for Antony secured the victory as log leaders Arsenal saw their winning start to the season end at Old Trafford.

After the match, McCarthy was seen at the tunnel handing out high fives and hugs to the players as they walked towards the dressing room.

The victory pushed United (12) up to fifth place, three points off leaders Arsenal (15) and two points behind Manchester City (14) and Tottenham (14).

Meanwhile, Brighton hold onto fourth place (13) after a convincing 5-2 win over Leicester City.

Ten Hag and McCarthy will again be in the Old Trafford dugout on Thursday against Real Sociedad as United start their Europa League campaign.
