Watch Ben Doak and Andy Robertson share heartwarming Liverpool moment as 'wee man' hugs it out with Scotland skipper

They're not Scotland teammates just yet but it seems Andy Robertson and Ben Doak are already the best of friends at club level.

And the pair shared a heartwarming moment upon Robertson's return from international duty, the skipper going out his way to give "the wee man" a hug after arriving for training. Scotland skipper Robertson reported back for club duty slightly later than Doak, who was the star of the show for Scotland U21s despite losing narrowly to Spain. He's hoping to build on a promising first year at Anfield with some minutes in their upcoming games, as they face Wolves on Saturday before a Europa League trip to face LASK.

In the meantime though he's been working hard in the gym and was joined there by Robertson who appeared delighted to see him. Robbo, one of the leaders in the Liverpool dressing room, made a beeline for the young Scot as soon as he saw him.

In a heartwarming clip shared on the club's social media channels, the two are seen shaking hands and hugging it out, Robertson declaring: "Doaky! What's happening wee man?!"

Steve Clarke admitted Doak is already in his senior plans despite not turning 18 until November. Doak, widely viewed as the sixth attacker available for Klopp's dynamic 4-3-3 system, is hoping an increased role in the coming weeks can catapult him into contention for the October internationals - and perhaps the Euros beyond that if his upward curve stays true.
