Watch Ange riff on Tottenham doom merchants as former Celtic boss hits the giggles over 'bleak picture'

Playful Ange Postecoglou joked he was buzzing to be Tottenham boss before being reminded of his new team's 15-year wait for silverware.

The former Celtic boss impressed on his introductory meeting with the media as he accentuated the positives of his new gig and also paid tribute to his former club that he described as a "bucket list" destination for any manager. A deluge of questions surrounding Harry Kane followed but the 57-year-old was able to bat them away before showing off his traditional wit after being confronted by the uncomfortable truth surrounding Spurs' long run without glory.

When probed, Postecoglou joked: “You’ve painted a pretty bleak picture. I was excited about this role. But to be fair, that's why I'm here. That's what I love about it, all those things that are not here. And that's what I want to bring. I want to bring success, bring European football. I want this club to be where it deserves to be."
