Wales press conference LIVE updates as Dewi Lake called up and more players leave camp

Wales will hold a press conference this afternoon after announcing another new call-up, with Dewi Lake joining the squad.

The Ospreys hooker - who captained Wales for much of last year - missed the first three rounds of the Six Nations due to a bicep injury but has now returned in time for his side's final matches against Scotland and England.

Lake's return comes as Wales have released six Welsh-based players to their regions ahead of this weekend's URC fixtures, after 13 squad members who play their club rugby in England and Wales were also confirmed to be exiting camp during the fallow week under tournament regulations.

The changes come after a promising weekend for Wales, with their performance against Ireland on Saturday helping to restore a lot of pride to the Welsh jersey.

It may have been another defeat, but Wales looked like a completely different team under interim head coach Matt Sherratt as they threw everything at their opponents. and at one point led by eight points thanks to tries from Jac Morgan and Tom Rogers while the visitors were reduced to 14 men.

After starting the tournament with rudderless displays against France and Italy, it was a much-improved performance with Sherratt's men playing with passion and endeavour, as well as a much clearer attacking identity. With players impressing all over the park - including debutant Ellis Mee - there is hope that Wales can now finally get a win on the board after a losing run of 15 successive Tests.

We are set to hear from one of the Wales coaches at around 1pm today, so stay tuned for all the latest updates from the Welsh camp and elsewhere.
