Wales team announcement LIVE updates as Matt Sherratt names side for England
Matt Sherratt will name his Wales team to face England this afternoon.
The old enemy come to the Principality Stadium on Super Saturday, and will have the chance to secure the championship if they beat Wales.
Wales have not beaten England in the Six Nations since 2021, when they last won the championship, and it was a convincing 40-24 victory thanks to tries from Josh Adams, Liam Williams, Kieran Hardy and Cory Hill.
While England may have won the last three meetings in the Six Nations, two of those three games have gone down to a four-point gap at most. Last year's 16-14 result was particularly gutting for Wales, who lost out to a 71st-minute penalty from George Ford to fall to yet another Twickenham loss.
For Sherratt, there are a couple of definite absentees for this weekend's game. As previously reported this week, Tom Rogers and Josh Adams have been released from the squad due to injury. Cardiff wing Adams suffered a hamstring injury in training, while Rogers fractured his thumb against Scotland last weekend.
As it stands, this will be Sherratt's final game in charge of Wales. The Cardiff head coach came in on an interim basis when Warren Gatland left his post, but it was only agreed for him to take the reins until the end of the tournament. The search for a permanent head coach is well and truly under way, and the Welsh Rugby Union will be hoping to find a suitable candidate, along with a new director of rugby, prior to the summer tour of Japan.
