Vitor Matos press conference LIVE updates as new Swansea City boss unveiled

New Swansea City boss Vitor Matos will hold his first press conference this afternoon.

The 37-year-old was confirmed as the Swans' head coach on Monday lunchtime and brings to an end the club's search for Alan Sheehan's successor.

Matos, who has signed on until 2029, was in the stands at the weekend at Ashton Gate to watch his new club lose to Bristol City in pretty disappointing fashion.

He takes over a club in 20th place in the Championship and he starts work straightaway, taking the reins for the match against Derby County tomorrow night. “Swansea, for me, have always had a style. Something that distinguished the club from all the others,” Matos said.

“Somehow we have got a bit far away from what is the DNA of the club. So it will take steps, it will take a bit of time, but I really believe we can take steps in the right direction."

Matos will address the media later on this afternoon and we'll be there to cover it.
