Vince McMahon retires: Hugely exciting name to take over as Head of WWE Creative?
In case you somehow missed the news, Vince McMahon officially announced his retirement from WWE on Friday afternoon.
As well as being WWE’s Chairman and CEO, roles that have now been taken over by Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan, Vince also served as WWE’s Head of Creative.
His TV duties are now being handled by Bruce Prichard, his long-time right-hand man, but that isn’t expected to be a long-term solution.
In the days that have followed Vince’s shock announcement, two of the names that fans have speculated could take over WWE Creative are Triple H, and Paul Heyman.
While Triple H has recently become the Head of Talent Relations once again, seemingly ruling him out of a creative role, Heyman has emerged as a front-runner for the position.
Wade Keller of PWTorch has spoken about potential changes coming to WWE, also adding to the speculation that Heyman may be seeing his power within the company increase.
Keller explained that Stephanie McMahon and Heyman didn’t always get along, but have recently mended their relationship, so much so that there is said to be a genuine “chemistry” between the two.
He has worked with WWE and he butted heads with Stephanie McMahon. As I’ve talked about in recent months, it seems like to people that have seen them that Heyman and Stephanie get along. You know like, genuinely, there’s a chemistry and a dynamic between them that’s very positive.
The report goes on to say that due to his relationship with Stephanie, his understanding of the wrestling business, and his relationships with top stars, he could well find himself working with creative.
