Victor Orta eyeing £21m 'top' name to replace Raphinha at Leeds - journalist

Leeds United will have the young winger, Noa Lang, near the top of their list to replace Raphinha if the Brazilian is to leave this summer.

This is what the football journalist Pete O’Rourke has told This Is Futbol when discussing the future of Leeds’ 25-year-old winger, Raphinha.

It is believed Barcelona are now showing serious interest in the Brazilian with the winger.

The 22-year-old, Lang, has played Champions League football this season and provided 19 goal involvements in 31 league appearances (via Transfermarkt).

And O’Rourke believes the familiar name to most Leeds fans would be the obvious replacement if Raphinha is to leave with Leeds previously linked to Lang.

“He’s a talented attacker at Club Brugge, somebody that Leeds have been watching for quite a long time, so if they do sell Raphinha for a decent fee, I’m sure he’s definitely one of the top names on their list to replace him.”

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…

We find it difficult to see Raphinha remaining a Leeds player after an impressive campaign leading to interest from one of the world’s biggest clubs. Although, he was fully engaged in celebrations yesterday, so it remains to be seen.

With this in mind, we’d imagine that Victor Orta will have potential replacements in mind for the possibility of their Brazilian departing in the summer.

Lang, who has a price tag of £21m, is a player they have been linked with for months now, but you have to question whether he would still be a realistic option if the Whites do find themselves playing second-tier football next season?
