Edu could now "use his connections" in Arsenal swoop for "complete" £45m-rated star - journalist

Arsenal technical director Edu “will be trying to use his Brazilian connections” to lure Everton’s Richarlison to the Emirates, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Despite helping to keep Everton in the Premier League last season, all signals seem to point towards the Brazil international making an exit from Goodison Park this summer.

Reports in recent months have suggested that Mikel Arteta’s side could be among his suitors, and now, O’Rourke has claimed that the Gunners could have an advantage in that race.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O’Rourke said that Edu’s Brazilian connections could be something he uses to his advantage in what is likely to be a crowded race for Richarlison’s signature.

He said: “I think having these Brazilian connections can only help in their pursuit of transfer targets. Edu, I’m sure will be trying to use his connections to maybe try and convince Richarlison to make that move to Arsenal ahead of other clubs because there will be quite a bit of interest in him this summer.

“Any advantage that you can use to try and win the race for a transfer signature, I think Edu will use his connections.”

The £45m-rated star appears to be a perfect fit for Arteta’s style at the Emirates, with the Spanish boss never shying away from admitting his side need to show personality and character.
