Victor Lindelof agrees with Manchester United goalkeepers past and present on club's best finisher

Victor Lindelof would have the finishing quality of Anthony Martial in his perfect Manchester United player - supporting previous claims from Tom Heaton and Jack Butland that he is the most clinical at the club.

Swedish defender Lindelof was given a list of attributes and asked to assign a United player to each, in order to make the strongest possible combination. After choosing Marcus Rashford's pace and Raphael Varane's mentality among others, he wanted the finishing ability of Martial.

And there is clearly a consensus among United players, with current and former goalkeepers Heaton and Butland also fans of the French international. Third-choice shot-stopper Heaton heaped praise on his teammate over the summer, describing how he makes it so difficult for a goalkeeper to read him.

"For me it would probably be Anthony Martial: he can bend it, he can whip it, he can go with power, he can lift it over you," Heaton told United's website in August. "He's got that composure, that sort of calmness in front of goal that makes it difficult for a goalkeeper.

"[As a goalkeeper] you very often want people to take a shot early or to force them into something but with Anthony it's very difficult to affect him, so when he's through on goal it usually ends up in the net."

Butland, who spent the second half of last season on loan at United but made no appearances before joining Rangers in the summer, named Martial among four of the club's most clinical in front of goal.
