Vale Juniors boss Brian Brown delighted with attacking additions ahead of new season

Brian Brown hopes that bolstering his side’s attacking ranks will be the key to a successful season.

The Vale have been busy in the summer window, adding a host of new faces to the squad which had finished last season strongly.

And boss Brian Brown is particularly pleased with his work in the final third, with two returning players and three new faces giving him a selection headache.

Wide-men Richie Stewart and Chris Jackson have both returned to the Vale, and have more than 150 appearances for the Millburn side between them.

They have been joined by forwards Ross Cameron, who joins from Johnstone Burgh, and Ethan Furze - a prolific scorer for Bishopton in the Glasgow Colleges FA. As well as Stuart Alexander, who makes the step up from the Vale’s amateur side.

Delighted gaffer Brian said: “In the forward areas we’ve been struggling really badly. But now we look as if we have a load of options.

“We managed to sign Ross Cameron over the weekend, so we’re looking a lot stronger going forward than we have done. And that was a huge issue for us last year.

“Ethan Furze has come across from Bishopton where he scored about 64 goals or something for them last year. I’m looking forward to him getting his first goal for us to get up and running.

“Ross Cameron comes from Johnstone Burgh and will be another good addition for us. And Stuart Alexander comes in up front from the amateur side. He looks like he’ll be a real handful for defenders.

“All three guys add a real pace at the top end of the park, which is always good at Millburn.

“I’m really happy with our business and the options we have up front.

“We knew it was something that we had to put right. We’d done well to get Ryan Hynes in and brought Greg Thackrey up from the 20s
