Jordan Miles is new Aberdeen FC transfer guru as Pittodrie club step up recruitment drive
Jordan Miles has joined Aberdeen as their new head of recruitment.
The Dons have added the former West Ham, Derby County and Ipswich Town transfer guru after the departure of Darren Mowbray - brother of former Celtic boss Tony - as part of their “footballing strategy” at Pittodrie. And it’s set to be a busy start for Miles, with Barry Robson’s side in the midst of a recruitment drive ahead of their Europa League playoff showdown next month. The Reds go into that tie knowing that they have guaranteed group stage football in the Conference League even if they are knocked out.
To boost their chances though, Aberdeen have added six new faces already, with more on the way. Leighton Clarkson is back on a permanent deal from Liverpool, as is skipper Graeme Shinnie from Wigan. They are joined by Clarkson’s former Anfield teammate Rhys Williams on loan. Ross Doohan is back up to Kelle Roos between the sticks while Ester Sokler and Nicky Devlin have also signed on.
Israeli midfielder Or Dadia has agreed a loan with an option to buy, as revealed exclusively by Record Sport, and is just awaiting a work permit. Miles will oversee the recruitment from now on, and he has already liked what he's seen by those who will be working under him.
