Unseen FC Twente reaction to Manchester United draw reminded Erik ten Hag of his top priority

Manchester United's Europa League campaign got off to a disappointing start as they were held to a 1-1 draw with FC Twente at OId Trafford.

United started positively and led in the first half thanks to a stunning strike from Christian Eriksen, but the Dane was at fault for the equaliser, turning into traffic and losing the ball to Sam Lammers, who beat Andre Onana at his near post.

The final whistle sparked scenes of wild celebration from FC Twente players and supporters and while it was a bad night for Erik ten Hag's side, United still have time to secure a top-eight finish in the new league phase and avoid a Europa League play-off round in the new year. They next face Porto in Portugal next week.
