'Unplayable' - Thomas Frank makes claim about Man United players' form after Brentford battering

Thomas Frank said he thought Brentford played better in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Saturday than in their 4-0 victory over them last season.

The Bees famously hammered United in Erik ten Hag's second ever game in charge back in August 2022, a humbling day for the Dutchman.

But United were similarly battered into submission on their latest visit to the Gtech Community Stadium on Easter Saturday, conceding an incredible 31 shots on their own goal but somehow emerging with a point.

Mason Mount thought he'd nicked the win for United in stoppage time, but Kristoffer Ajer sealed a point with an instant equaliser, which was more than deserved for the home side, who were vastly superior.

Speaking to the press after the game, Frank said he could not believe Brentford hadn't won the game.

He said: "We beat Man United 4-0 last season but I thought we performed better today. It was our best of the season.

"We faced Manchester United, they’ve been in-form and their front three [is great], at times Garnacho [is] unplayable, Rashford back to a good level and Hojlund."

Adding to those comments to Sky Sports, Frank said: "There should have been only one winner in the game, that could only be us. Then you go 1-0 down in the 96th minute and you think football is brutal. I almost lost faith in the football god but he gave a bit back.

"What a performance. We completely dominated the game and there could only be one winner.

"We had the most shots ever in the Premier League. How we didn't win is incredible.

"I am very, very happy with the performance. It was more or less the perfect
