'Unbelievable player' - Diogo Dalot explains how big a role Casemiro has at Manchester United

Diogo Dalot believes Casemiro still has a big part to play for Manchester United after he scored twice in Wednesday night's 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

The Brazilian, who will turn 33 in February, bent home a Goal of the Season contender to open the scoring after just 15 minutes. He then netted his second and United's fourth of the evening shortly before half-time.

Starting alongside Manuel Ugarte at the base of the midfield, the former Real Madrid man, in addition to his two goals, produced an accomplished showing, winning five duels, making two tackles and producing four clearances.

Interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy launched a staunch defence of the midfielder in one of his post-match interviews, insisting he is 'delighted' to have him at the club. Dalot, too, also lauded the Brazilian international, describing him as an 'unbelievable player'.

"It was an unbelievable goal," Dalot told MUTV, reflecting on Casemiro's opener. "He has that in him, those abilities. And it shows how much he was confident to [shoot] that far from the goal. So I am glad he did.

"We know that when he is at this level, when he is in his best shape, I think he is an unbelievable player. He can help us a lot. So, today, I think he showed a very fantastic level."
