Ukraine war sees Wolves linked with transfer for Brazilian who played for Bruno Lage at Benfica

Wolves could be set to land Shakhtar Donetsk winger Pedrinho before the end of the season.

The Brazil Under-23 international has been linked with a move away from Ukraine amid the country's invasion by Russia.

FIFA recently announced that players and coaches working at clubs in both countries will be allowed to move elsewhere during the conflict between the two nations.

The 23-year-old has also been linked with a move back to his native Brazil.

But one of the clubs reportedly interested, Sao Paulo, have ruled out a move.

The club's manager Rogerio Ceni, who is famous for scoring over 100 goals during his playing career as a goalkeeper, told ESPN : “I really like him, I think he’s a very good player. But I don’t have an interest in having him at Sao Paulo.

“Despite liking him a lot, and finding a very beautiful player.

“I talked to him. But, today, I have no interest in working with him at Sao Paulo.”

Pedrinho has scored four goals since joining Shakhtar last summer from Benfica.

And now Brazilain news site Gazeta Esportiva, are reporting that Wolves are interested in completing a deal.

They report that Wolves face competition from fellow Premier League side Everton but the Toffee's current struggles and Bruno Lage's previous relationship with the player could tip a potential transfer in Wolves favour.

The Brazilian previously worked with the Wolves boss last season during his spell at Benfica where he scored one goal in 31 appearances for the Portuguese side.

Wolves are also chasing European football this season which may tempt Pedrinho into a switch to Molineux.

They play Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
