UFC legend Daniel Cormier admits he can't 'let go' of Jon Jones defeats

UFC legend Daniel Cormier has admitted that he’s struggled to let go of his two losses to Jon Jones.

While the mixed martial arts career of Daniel Cormier featured some incredible accomplishments from the Olympian, he also suffered a handful of defeats along the way. He was beaten at heavyweight by Stipe Miocic on two separate occasions, but by far the most notable rivalry of his career came against Jon Jones.

Whenever the two weren’t in the cage together or talking about each other on social media, fans and pundits alike were waiting for the moment they stepped foot inside the cage to go to war once again.

Their first collision went down at UFC 182 and on that night, ‘Bones’ was able to hand DC the first loss of his professional career.

Two years later they met once again at UFC 214, and this time, Jones turned his decision triumph into a TKO finish.

Unfortunately for the light heavyweight GOAT, the result was turned into a no contest after he tested positive for a turinabol metabolite.

During a recent podcast appearance, Cormier didn’t hold back when discussing how the entire saga impacted him.

“The dude’s so talented, he could’ve won the fights, anyway,” Cormier said. “The first time we fought, 2015, that was seven years ago. I was 36 years old. Dude was like 24. Young man. Tall, got all the physical gifts. He beats me. Gets suspended for the first thing.
