Host nation England are through to the semi-finals of Euro 2022 after beating Spain 2-1 at Brighton’s Amex Stadium.
Sarina Wiegman’s side cruised through the group stage of the tournament, winning all three of their games and not conceding a single goal. But in Spain, they faced a much tougher task.
England dug deep, though, and managed to record a hugely impressive comeback victory thanks to Ella Toone’s late equaliser and an absolute stunner from Georgia Stanway in the first half of extra-time.

After a fairly even first half between the two teams, Real Madrid‘s Esther Gonzalez fired Spain into the lead on 54 minutes, the talented forward finishing calmly from inside the box after some rather slack defending from England.
