UFC 280: Sean O'Malley admits he'd rather play Call of Duty than watch MMA

UFC star Sean O’Malley has revealed that he prefers to play Call of Duty than watch UFC fights.

Whether you love him or you hate him, there’s no denying that Sean O’Malley brings a lot of eyes to mixed martial arts. His eccentric personality is matched by his intense, entertaining style inside the cage and when you examine how he’s been able to capture the imagination of the fanbase, it’s no surprise to learn that he’s rapidly becoming one of the biggest names in the bantamweight division – as well as in the entire promotion.

The 27-year-old has projected big things for himself in the future and given that he’s only lost one fight in the UFC, under controversial circumstances, it’s hard to disagree.

As we all know ‘Suga’ has a lot of interests outside of MMA that include gaming, podcasting and generally being one of the most unique individuals the sport has ever known.

You’d have thought that he’d be quite invested in the idea of watching some of his rivals perform to see what they’re all about, but as he revealed during an appearance on The MMA Hour, that isn’t necessarily the case.

“I don’t really watch YouTube boxing, I don’t really watch boxing, I don’t honestly really watch UFC ever. Like, there has to be a massive fight for me to watch the UFC. I would rather play Call of Duty, for the most part.”

There was a lot of disappointment in the air when O’Malley’s UFC 276 contest against Pedro Munhoz had to be called to a stop as a result of an accidental eye poke. Still, that hasn’t stopped the 135-pounder from daring to be great, which is precisely what he’ll be doing at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi.
