UFC 279: Jake Paul praises Nate Diaz's win over Tony Ferguson

Jake Paul has praised Nate Diaz for his emphatic submission win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279.

Last Saturday night at UFC 279, Nate Diaz was able to sign off from his UFC run in style with a submission win in the main event against Tony Ferguson.

The Stockton king was expected to face Khamzat Chimaev but after the Chechen fighter missed weight, he was given the task of taking on ‘El Cucuy’ instead.

The pair went to war in what proved to be a really fun four-round encounter between two men who rarely get the kind of credit they deserve for what they’ve achieved in the sport. Now, Diaz plans on moving on to something new, with the likeliest option being a venture into the crazy world of professional boxing.

One individual who could be waiting for him when he gets there is none other than YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

‘The Problem Child’ has made his own mark on combat sports in the last couple of years and during a recent interview, he was asked to give his thoughts on Diaz’s performance and where he goes from here.

“10/10. He was entertaining, he was fun, he had great striking and then he finished with the submission. It was damn near flawless and it just sets up a massive fight hopefully for us one day. But, for now, October 29th, Anderson Silva.”

Paul hasn’t been shy about calling out Nate Diaz with his ultimate goal, seemingly, being to take the veteran on before booking a meeting with Conor McGregor.

Even at 5-0, with wins over the likes of Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, Jake Paul still has as many doubters as you’d expect from someone with his kind of platform.
