UFC 277: Amanda Nunes gets intense during Julianna Pena face-off

UFC star Amanda Nunes let Julianna Pena know what she plans to do at UFC 277 during an intense face-off on The Ultimate Fighter.

As part of the 30th season of TUF, rivals Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena were given the honour of being the coaches for the landmark season. There was an underlying sense of tension throughout the course of their interactions on the show and at UFC 277 next weekend, they’ll get the chance to settle the score once and for all as they prepare to meet in Dallas with the UFC women’s bantamweight championship on the line.

For years now Nunes has been recognised as the greatest female fighter of all-time by fans and pundits alike but with Pena threatening to ruin that reputation, ‘The Lioness’ appears to be hungrier than she’s ever been before to recapture the belt and put an end to Pena’s reign.

Of course, as is customary for the coaches to do at the end of any TUF season, they squared off inside the cage with UFC president Dana White being there to watch it go down.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Nunes had a few words to say to the champion.

Nunes: “Enjoy. The belt is mine. I’m gonna take that thing.”

Pena: “We’ll see, that’s what you said last time.”

The two proceeded to exit the cage, but Nunes wasn’t done giving her rival a piece of her mind.

Nunes: “See you soon Julie. You know this belt is mine, you know, I’m gonna get that belt, you know. Now you don’t wanna talk? Now you’re not talking?”

Pena: “[She’s] like a little barking dog.”

Nunes: “Now you don’t say one word.”

Pena: “What do I need to say? The work speaks for itself.”

Things are getting spicy!
