UFC 277: Brandon Moreno's liver kick KO sounded horrific

Brandon Moreno reminded us all why MMA can be utterly terrifying with a devastating liver kick KO of Kai Kara-France at UFC 277.

Last Saturday night at UFC 277 in Dallas, we saw a parade of high quality bouts go down as the Lone Star State showed up in a big way.

While it may not have been seen as one of the most stacked cards the promotion has ever produced, the main card delivered with four finishes and a main event that saw the GOAT, Amanda Nunes, return to the top of the mountain as champ-champ.

In the co-main event, however, there was another flyweight epic to enjoy with Brandon Moreno meeting Kai Kara-France for the interim flyweight championship.

Moreno was considered by many to be the favourite given his role as a former champion, and yet despite seemingly winning the first two rounds, Kara-France appeared to be making his mark in the third – potentially setting us up for some incredible championship rounds.

Alas, it didn’t get that far as ‘The Assassin Baby’ landed a monstrous liver kick on the City Kickboxing star and followed up with a barrage of shots before the referee stepped in to stop the beating.

Moreno received quite the pop from the crowd in attendance and upon watching it back, it’s not hard to understand why Kai folded as the noise of the kick echoed through the entire arena.

The 28-year-old was right on the money and landed a flush shot, crumpling Kara-France to the point where he simply wasn’t able to recover.
