Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Eddie Hearn predicts when fight might happen

The two biggest names in British boxing, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could still be set to go head to head according to Eddie Hearn.

Joshua’s promoter believes the duo will still take to the ring in December despite the Gypsy King retiring from the sport.

Fury knocked out Dillian Whyte infront of a bumper Wembley crowd earlier this year to retain his WBC title. Afterwards he said that it was his last fight of his career.

Although Hearn still faces the obstacle of getting Fury out of retirement, he’s confident the fight will happen. Talking live on Instagram, as reported by talkSPORT, the promoter claimed: “I think you’ll see Joshua-Fury whatever happens, in all honesty.

“But hopefully we can see it for the undisputed world heavyweight championship in December.”

Fury has still been in training after his retirement, although he insists he is doing so for the good of his mental health rather than a future fight.

This is a fight boxing fans have been desperate to see and would surely be one of the biggest events in the history of the sport. So a large sum dangled infront of Fury’s eyes could see him make a U-turn and re-enter the ring.

Getting the Gypsy King to reverse his decision isn’t the only obstacle in Hearn’s way. His fighter Joshua has to better Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch next month in Saudi Arabia.

The Ukranian dethroned Joshua via a unanimous decision on the points last year, which at the time, put major doubts on a potential clash with Fury.

It was a defeat that Joshua claimed ‘mentally killed me’ when he was comfortably outboxed by Usyk. So for AJ to get his revenge and set the record straight still proves to be a major hurdle in the way.

The fight was allegedly all but ready to go before Fury was left
