Tyson Fury's dad branded 'cringe' by son as he's told to 'eat a cheese sandwich' instead

Tyson Fury's dad has been labelled as 'cringe' by his own son for challenging retired boxers at the age of 59.

John Fury, the outspoken father of world heavyweight champion Tyson, has recently thrown down the gauntlet to Mike Tyson and Carl Froch. John believes he could fill Wembley Stadium with a fight against former super-middleweight Froch, who is 13 years younger than him. Meanwhile, ex-boxer Joe Egan has challenged Fury Sr, suggesting they could "make millions" in a Misfits Boxing match.

One of John Fury's other sons, Shane, seemed embarrassed by his dad's antics and suggested that his dad should just have a "cheese sandwich and watch telly". Former amateur boxer Shane, who is part of Team Fury, told BoxingKingMedia: "It's quite cringey in all fairness, on my dad's behalf. I don't agree with it at all.

"He's his own man and he'll do what he'll do. I've never actually spoken to him about it. With my dad, he gets irate because he's exactly the same as me, he's emotionally involved with it. And when he gets irate, he comes out with stuff. He'd be better off eating a cheese sandwich and watching telly. I don't really care about that side of it, he's got a few people offering him out and I think they're talking about fighting, but we'll see."

When asked if he thought his father would actually make a return to the ring, Shane added: "No, not really. But the thing is, if you're opening your mouth and saying stuff, calling everyone out, and someone wants to step up to the mark, then you've got to step up to the mark.
