'I would eat you for lunch' - Roy Keane and Micah Richards tease boxing bout as Man United legend called out

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane and ex-Manchester City defender Micah Richards have teased a potential boxing fight between each other in the future following Anthony Joshua's prediction.

Keane and Richards were in the Sky Sports studio on Sunday afternoon to provide analysis on the Manchester derby. After the game had finished 3-1 in City's favour, a pre-recorded clip of Joshua was shown which looked like it was going to promote his upcoming bout with Francis Ngannou.

Instead, the 34-year-old was asked to pick a winner if Keane and Richards were to meet in the ring. He responded: "Let’s look at the tale of the tape, shall we?

"We have got Micah Richards, big guy, looks like a natural heavyweight, solid. But when we talk about Roy Keane, the one and only, the man that is about that smoke, about that life, he has a bit of amateur experience as well.

"If I was to toss a coin I would say it would probably land on Micah but you know when a coin just flips, bounces and lands again it would land on Roy Keane. I think Roy Keane is going to do the job." When they returned to the studio at the Etihad Stadium, a stunned Keane was not so sure about Joshua's prediction.

He said: "I wish I could believe what he is saying. I think Micah would take me very, very easily."

Richards jokingly replied: "I should do, I am 16 and a half stone, proper heavyweight," adding: "I would eat you for lunch."

Having sportingly settled on a draw, host Kelly Cates asked whether this could happen in the future, to which Richards responded: "It is up to you [Keane]," before concluding: "I will take Wayne Rooney first
