Tyson Fury breaks silence on Oleksandr Usyk fight with Francis Ngannou admission

Tyson Fury says he will beat “little guy” Oleksandr Usyk but says he is not focused on their undisputed clash in December.

There is still no confirmed venue or date for the fight but both parties seem to have agreed to the contest. But Fury has to get past his fight with former MMA champion Francis Ngannou on October 28.

“Listen, I’m not really too bothered about Usyk at the moment,” Fury told Derek Chisora on Instagram in his first interview since the Usyk fight was announced. “I’ve got Big Francis to deal with. After that’s dealt with and I get out of there injury-free, in one piece, we’re on like Donkey Kong.”

Usyk has won 21 fights out of 21 with 14 knock-out victories. Fury has 33 wins with 24 kick-outs and one solitary draw with Deontay Wilder.

The undisputed title comes from the fact that neither boxer has lost a professional fight. But Fury is confident that he can protect his unbeaten streak.

“I’ll swat him off like a little piece of rain off my shoulder,” said Fury of Usyk. “But until that day I always give every single person I fight 100 per cent.

“I’ll have been training by the time the fight comes around for 12 weeks. I only usually train for four or five weeks but I’ve been out for a year. I’ve lost like 150 lbs in four weeks just by dieting. I”ll see you out there.”

Fury vs Ngannou is live on TNT Sports Box Office. Coverage, starting with the undercards, will begin at 6pm UK time.
