Tyrone lose appeal as red cards upheld

Tyrone have lost their appeal against the four red cards handed out in their loss to Armagh in the Athletic Grounds, meaning they will be without four key players for Sunday's game at home to Kildare.

Padraig Hampsey, Michael McKernan, Peter Harte and Kieran McGeary were all sent off by referee David Gough after a brawl near the end of the game.

Armagh's Greg McCabe was also sent off over the incident.

In the wake of the five-point loss, Tyrone joint-manager Fearghal Logan said they would be appealing the decisions but Croke Park have now dismissed those appeals and the suspensions have been upheld.

The 2021 All-Ireland champions have one point from the opening two games of their Division 1 campaign, having drawn at home to Monaghan before their loss in Armagh.
