Two women taken to hospital after Oldham crash

Two women were taken to hospital after a crash in Oldham. Emergency services were called to Ripponden Road at around 6pm on Friday (February 24) following reports of the incident.

Firefighters and paramedics tended to three women at the scene before two were later taken to hospital. Fire services from Oldham, Chadderton and Leigh were in attendance for up to one hour.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:“At around 6pm on Friday 24 February, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Ripponden Road, Oldham.

“Two fire engines from Oldham and Chadderton, as well as the technical rescue unit from Leigh, quickly responded to the incident, which involved two cars.

“Firefighters worked with paramedics assess three women at the scene, with two later taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). Fire crews then helped make the area safe.

“GMFRS crews were in attendance for about an hour.”
