Two arrested after 90-minute police chase across three counties

Two men have been arrested after police were led on a 90-minute chase across three different force areas. The pursuit, which involved a police helicopter began following an attempted robbery.

A motorist reported that two people on a motorbike had blocked the road and threatened her with a knife in an attempt to get into her vehicle in Deansgate, Ellesmere Port, shortly before 2.45pm on Thursday (July 18).

The suspects fled the scene. Cheshire Police’s Roads and Crime Unit, along with armed patrols, attended. A chase began with a police helicopter crew guiding ground patrols.
