TUI cancels six flights from England to Greek island due to 'severe' weather
TUI has cancelled six flights to a popular Greek island over 'severe' weather concerns.
The travel company has suspended flights to Skiathos as it 'closely monitors' the weather situation. It comes after reports that Skiathos and Volos in Greece have been affected by flash floods due to high rates of consecutive waterfall.
Strong currents on Skiathos have been seen dragging away plants and vehicles, with excessive amounts of water rushing through the streets. Overall, six flights have been cancelled by TUI, affecting major airports including Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle, and London Gatwick.

Holidaymakers still on the island have been informed that the company is working to "get you safely back home to the UK" and that those affected will be contacted, including details of a new flight once they have been solidified.
TUI said: "Customers that were due to travel to Skiathos on the 5th or 6th of September are able to amend their holiday for free with a 10 per cent rebooking incentive or receive a full refund if they no longer wish to travel. We will be contacting these customers to discuss their options.
