British Airways, easyJet and TUI issue updates to holidaymakers after Morocco earthquake

Airlines have issued advice to passengers after a devastating earthquake in Morocco killed more than 1,000 people. A further 1,200 people were injured after the earthquake near Marrakesh, a popular holiday destination.

It was the hardest earthquake to hit Morocco in 120 years and caused devastation. Now airlines including British Airways, TUI and easyJet have issued advice to tourists in Morocco, and those planning to fly out in the coming days.

TUI said: "Customers in Morocco - We are aware of and deeply saddened by the devastating earthquakes which took place last night about 70km Southwest of Marrakesh.

"To reassure, our teams are currently working on the ground in resort and supporting customers where needed and in contact with local authorities and partners to continue to assess the situation. Please follow instructions by your hoteliers and local authorities.
